Hi, I’m Amelia Smith, a licenced Psychologist in Bend, Oregon.

As we move through life challenges arise and present opportunities for growth. At times we may not be prepared for these changes and feel overwhelmed and unsure how to navigate through them. Underlying issues can make it difficult to cope and may lead to irritability, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, and grief, among other issues. My goal is to help you define the life you want to live and to help you cultivate the skills and insight needed to live that life now. Gaining an understanding of how our mind impacts our mood and our behaviors will lead to greater awareness and the freedom to choose your path forward.

Building resiliency is a key focus of my work so that you can move forward with more confidence, knowing you have the skills to face life’s challenges. A significant part of this skill building is a focus on meditation and mindfulness. Individuals with an interest in cultivating a meditation practice for stress management will be a good fit.

GROUP THERAPY – MEDITATION

I occasionally offer a meditation group that meets weekly for 45 minutes.  The focus is on building and maintaining a personal practice.  This is a skill development group and there will be an emphasis on experiential practices with minimal sharing of personal experience/details.  This is a great way to develop an evidence-based self-care practice.
